Qualification to serve as a Board Director

To qualify to serve as a Director of a Special District, a person must be an “elector,” defined as a registered voter of Colorado and either:

• A resident of the District for not less than 20 days,
• The owner or spouse of owner of taxable real or personal property situated in the District, or
  A person obligated to pay taxes under a contract to purchase.
  
  

These qualifications must be met at the time of execution of the nomination petition or appointment to the Board if filling a vacancy and must be maintained to remain qualified to serve as a Director.
